The Badmaax Frankincense Export Co. is a Somaliland-based company that has specialised in the export of frankincense and myrrh. Owned and managed by a team of private sector specialists, the company exports from Somaliland directly to an expansive list of customers from all over the world.

We are a dedicated team operating in Somaliland, Puntland, Germany and the UAE. Inspired by farmers reaching out to us for help, we strive to make a positive impact by introducing a regenerative model that promotes social, ecological and economic change.

The founder and owner of the company is Hamza Badmah. He is a lawyer from
Germany with a master’s degree in law.

During his travels to his homeland of Somaliland, Hamza was completely under the spell of the centuries-old tradition of incense and over the years developed a real passion for incense, which was traded here as early
as the time of the Pharaohs.

Hamza is fluent in German, English and Somali.

At our core, we are committed to sustainable harvesting practices. We firmly believe in working hand in hand with the farmers to ensure fair prices for their products, ultimately enhancing their day-to-day living standards. Through our social enterprise initiative, we aim to transform the lives of these farmers and their families by reinvesting in the infrastructure of the region.

Our focus lies specifically on the export of frankincense from Somaliland. Frankincense, a treasured and ancient resin, holds immense cultural, historical and spiritual significance. By exporting this precious resource.
We aim to showcase the rich heritage of Somaliland while also contributing to the livelihoods of the farmers who have meticulously cultivated these fragrant trees for generations.
